Mosque

Legend has it that the Muslim shrine located at Kataragama has a long history of about 800 years. A Muslim priest named Pal Baba, who became a devotee of God Kataragama, can be called the founder of this shrine. He came from Dambadiwa and was known as "Pal Kudi Baba" because he ate only fruits and milk.

After his death, his body was buried there and we can see the place even today. A special rock found here is said to have the ability to remove poisons from the body such as snakes and devotees can also be seen worshiping at this shrine.
